The Alavi Foundation

Shia institution of NY' charitable activities promotes the study of Persian culture, language, art, literature, and civilization. It has long supported programs in interfaith studies, and stands for democracy, freedom of expression, religious co-existence and pluralism, and equal rights for all. This Foundation's work is entirely charitable. It tries to support the education of young people, to prevent radicalization and violent extremism, and to enhance the appreciation of Persian culture, including Islamic studies.

This center has also started Shia Islamic Institute of New York.
